Day Seven - Cedar City UT to Williams. AZ
After a good nights sleep and a big breakfast I got back on the road to Zion National Park. I was looking forward to having a better day on the bike today. Zion did not disappoint.

After exiting Zion National Park I headed south across the border into Arizona. I took Route Alt. 89 through the Kaibab National Forest to the Vermillion Cliffs Monument. In the picture to the right the cliffs appear to be about 10 miles away. The thing I found most odd about riding out west is the grand scale of the landscape. I would look at a mountain like this and estimate it a being 10 miles away. I soon found that I was a poor judge of distances out here. This was the case when I took this photo. I rode the bike at 90 MPH for a half hour and was not much closer.
You have to wonder how these got here.
I continued south on route 89 through the Navajo Indian Reservation to Route 64 that leads to the south rim of the Grand Canyon. This was a nice twisty road that I had a lot of fun scraping the pegs on. The Grand Canyon is quite breathtaking. I am happy that I went to take a look. I am just not sure there is a lot of things to do there beyond taking pictures and hiking down into the canyon IMHO.
As I sat at the South Rim on the Grand Canyon I was really tired. After seven days on the road I was pooped. I had a reservation in Williams AZ at a holiday inn. I decided that tomorrow would be an easy day. I made it to the hotel at around 8 PM. I ordered a pizza and soon found myself asleep for the night.

Day Ten - Amarillo, TX to Little Rock, AR
Day Eleven - Little Rock AR to Cordova TN
Day Twelve through Fifteen - Memphis, TN
