Day Five - West Yellowstone, Mt to Logan, UT

To my dismay I found my self in a situation that would require me to skip most of Montana and Idaho.  I had planned to go north from Yellowstone up eastern Idaho and cutting across the going to the sun road in Glacier National Park and then south through Montana.  There was a very large storm system in the Pacific north west that was moving southeast rapidly.  The forecast for the next day in Idaho and Montana was for a heavy snow fall (12 to 18 inches) above 6000 feet in elevation.   With this in mind I decided to spend the day exploring Yellowstone and the Grand Teton National Park.  I would continue south to Utah.

More Buffalo in Yellowstone.  There was wildlife around every corner.  The thing that most impressed me, I did not get a picture of.  As I was leaving Old faithful I passed a gray wolf.  He had just gotten some lunch as I saw a small furry animal in his mouth as he trotted by me on one of the many parking spaces along the side of the road.  I stopped as fast as possible but I was not quick enough with my camera.

The Blue Geyser.  The heat radiating out of these is incredible.

After leaving Grand Teton National Park I continued south not stopping to take any pictures as I had a nasty storm on my tail.  On my way south I passed through Targhee National Forest, Caribou National Forest, Bridger National Forest, and Cache National Forest.  I really enjoyed the afternoon seeing great scenery and some great motorcycle roads.  I ended the day in Logan Utah.  When I got in town I started looking for a hotel room as it was getting dark and cold.  I found a Hampton Inn with one room left, a suite. I ordered a pizza from Dominos and checked the weather.  The weather did not look good, the storm was catching up to me.
